What it does? HipServ is a home server software platform that allows you to centrally and securely store and manage your precious digital content (digital photos, music, videos, etc.). It also allows you to automatically backup your content, share your content with friends and family via simple email invitations, and access your content remotely via the Internet and mobile devices. HipServ's built-in media server makes your content available to a wide range of digital media players that support UPnP, and DLNA compliant devices throughout the home. You can also access the content on gaming systems such as Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
What makes it Innovative? HipServ is the only Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server-based embedded solution that allows OEMs and SPs to quickly go to market with a secure, branded home server solution. HipServ is significantly less expensive than the competition, as the cost of an x86 Windows architecture is prohibitively expensive for most retail outlets and SPs.
